Travel along scenic Alpine roads to the historic Eagle’s Nest, a mountaintop offering spectacular views over the Bavarian Alps. Continue to Königssee, famous for its crystal-clear water and dramatic fjord-like setting. Enjoy free time by the lake or take an optional boat ride to experience its natural beauty up close.
OPTIONS:
Instead of taking the Eagles Nest bus, which is very time-consuming and over-touristed, we can offer the cable car Jennerbahn with the same great views of the Alps and Kingslake.
For a deep historical understanding of the impact of WWII on the area, we recommend visiting the Documentary Centre (together with the cable car, instead of the bus to Eagle's Nest)
Visiting the alpine area around Berchtesgaden - Ramsau, Lake Hinter-see, and simple hiking in Wimbachklamm (Gorge) - from May to September.
All the options could not be done in 1 day, please discuss the itinerary with us and we will advise what is best to do depending on your interests.

Before the 7th of May 2026 (or instead of the bus), we can visit the Documentation Centre, which presents in a very interactive way the most significant historical information about WWII in Berchtesgaden.
As well as the Cable Car Jennerbahn with the same great views as from the Eagle's Nest bus, but significantly less crowds. Costs of cable car 37,00-47,00 € depending on time

09:00-09:30 am Departure from the hotel in Salzburg or near it
10:30 am-1:00 pm-Eagle Nest Bus or Documentary Centre and Cable Car
Driving to Königs lake

6:00 - 7:00 pm Return to the hotel
