Are your tours private or small group?
We offer both private tours and small group tours. We offer small group tours from Innsbruck. Small group tours usually include minimum 4 up to 8 participants.
Private tours are offered from Innsbruck, Salzburg, Munich, Kufstein and other location. They are available for couples, families, or friends who prefer a customized itinerary without strangers in the same car.
What is the difference between a small group tour and a private tour?
Small group tours usually have 4–8 people, allowing less flexibility, and fixed itinerary, which every participant in a group must follow. Small group tour will be provided only if minimum participants are met. Small group tours starts in Innsbruck in defined meeting points and every participant must come to meeting point. Small group tour has lower cost per person.
Private tours are made for more comfortable family feeling and more private communication with guide. We pick you up from your hotel(where that is possible) or agreed location on the tour road and where that is feasible for the tour in area of starting town and even other towns, when that does not influence the tour route significantly. Private tour could be provided to solo traveler, family, family with infants, kids, physically disabled people, or people with special needs. Is it possible to customize a private tour?

How long are the tours?
Most of our day tours last 8–10 hours, depending on the destination and traffic conditions in the mountains. Alpine roads can sometimes cause travel times to vary slightly. Half day tours are usually last 4 hours.
What vehicle do you use for tours?
Tours are operated with comfortable Mercedes E-class or Mercedes vans, designed for small groups of 7-8 persons. The vehicles have air conditioning, large windows for scenic views, and comfortable seating for mountain travel. All the cars has necessarz insurances, and undergo annual technical inspection.
Are your tours in Alps suitable for children?
Welcome to our family-friendly tours! Most of our excursions are suitable for children, and according to local regulation children are obliged to seat on appropriate safety seats based on age and height. Please note that if a child refuses to use the safety seat, we must cancel the tour without a refund. As our tours can be full-day adventures, we recommend them for children who are comfortable with longer drives.
Please be aware that many of our tours traverse mountain roads, which may be challenging young children. For this reason, we advise against joining small group tours with kids under the age of 5. Parents should also be prepared for the possibility of motion sickness, so we recommend bringing extra clothes, cleaning towels, and ensuring children are not overfed before the trip. The most convenient way is private tour with transportation or small group tour. Public transport requires several train and bus changes and takes significantly longer (up to 4 hours).
Driving a car in mountains could be very tricky, traffic jams could occur in unpredictable moments, especially in winter, on public holidays and weekends. It is usually impossible to get another tickets on the same day. Hallstatt tour - FAQ
Do you offer tours to Hallstatt from Innsbruck?
Yes, we offer private tours to Hallstatt from Innsbruck, ending in Salzburg. We do not offer 2 way tour from Innsbruck to Hallstatt ending in Innsbruck, due to very far distance from Innsbruck to Hallstatt. Due to long drive, there is almost no time to explore Hallstatt and Salzkammergut area. We would rather recommend tours from Salzburg to Hallstatt or from Kufstein to Hallstatt.
Do you offer tours to Hallstatt from Salzburg?
Yes, we offer private tours to Hallstatt from Salzburg. Tour include scenic drive through Salzkammergut area, lake Wolfgang, lake Fuschl and enough time in Hallstatt. On the way back we offer to visit lake Gosau and stay there for lunch. Tour could be custumised with visit of St Wolfgang village instead or visiting 5 Fingers Panoramic Platform.
Can you visit Hallstatt from Innsbruck in one day?
Yes, Hallstatt can be visited as a full-day private tour from Innsbruck, but it is not recommendable due to long drive and possible traffic jams. The journey takes about 3–3.5 hours each way, partly on high-way. In this case it will be too less time left for visiting of Hallstatt and no time for Salzkammergut area or Gosau lake, or any cable cars.
We recommend to do this tour from Salzburg or at least from Kufstein (nearest town to Innsbruck).
Is Hallstatt worth visiting from Innsbruck?
No, we do not recommend 1 day tour from Innsbruck to Hallstatt due to long driving distance (3-3,5 hours) and so higher price for the tour. It is too less time left to explore Hallstatt and no time for surrounding area (Salzkammergut, St Wolfgang, Fuschllake, Gosau). If you want stay in Tirol, we recommend to visit Hallstatt from Kufstein or even from Salzburg.

Hallstatt was already know for its beauty by Austrian royal and nobility families in 19 century. During 20 century Hallstatt became popular due to growing tourism, social and mass media. in 2006 it was shown in South Korean show and get viral in Asian countries. In 2012 the copy of Hallstatt town was built in China.
For many tourist picture of Hallstatt in google search represent the whole Austria and considered as "most instagrammable" place of Austria.
What is the best time to visit Hallstatt?
Hallstatt is beautiful year-round. We recommend to visit Hallstatt from mid of January to mid of April, as well as in second part of October when you can enjoy beauty without crowds. Visiting Hallstatt in summer is more tricky. In August most of European citizens have vacations and town could be double crowded due to local tourism.
Also early morning or late afternoon visits are recommended to avoid large crowds, especially during peak travel months.
